Three women One house Lots of money down the drain What s a girl or three to do Renovate This is a delightful read The characters are vivid and feel like they could be my friends The writing flows well and grabbed my attention right away I read this book in one sitting and with over four hundred pages, that s quite an undertaking As soon as I started the tale, I had to know what would happen next Ms Wax kept me guessing throughout Every time I thought one thing would happen, the book took a diff [...]

A great read Loved Wendy Wax s Ten Beach Road a great new series Wow, where do I begin First and foremost the characters were divine Loved the rags to richesand back to being homeless struggles and challenges can relate is so many ways, as have been involved with corporate America in whistleblowing and other SEC investment firm scams with companies I have worked for in Atlanta and Florida Have been defrauded by Atlanta company, and lost everything at one point, so there is always a tough climb b [...]

Hmmmm, funny thing Ponzi scheme is the theme of the culprit in this book and also in the last book I read, Silver Girl Weird how that happens Madoff inspired beach reads

charlotteswebofbooks.Overall, Ten Beach Road, was the perfect book to go with my Spring Fever mentality Once I got past the whole, Could that really happen aspect of these three women getting possession of Ten Beach Road when there were hundreds of others still waiting for their money The descriptions of the historical mansion was enough to satisfy my daily cravings for house porn and the relationship between the three different women was interesting and unique I especially loved Maddie and how [...]

Wendy Wax understands the most difficult of dilemmas regarding family, secrets, undying passion, and inner turmoil, and that makes her stand out as a writer Carefully, she identifies three women with three different concerns and takes readers on a journey that highlights not only on how their problems are solved, but also the struggles the three women go through, in order to get there.A headlining Ponzi scheme involving Malcom Dyer leaves Maddie, Avery, and Nikki among hundreds of others abruptl [...]

This was ok Another summer read Not bad I didn t put it down I found some characters irritating Book was lengthy enough, however, that each main character did get sufficient time Two characters that had irritation with each other was the most annoying part It s tiresome to read about a guy demeaning a woman over and over again for an immature reason The book also includes the new popular plot point of the summer aside from a house where either distant family, friends, or strangers come together [...]

I liked this book, but I didn t love it I found the first half to drag on endlessly The last half, on the other hand, was where the relationships between the characters came together I enjoyed that part All in all, it was worth the reading and I ll read some other books by this author.

I can t handle books with a grown woman who refuses to ride in a minivan or shop at Costco because someone might see her and it will tarnish her image So ridiculous.

  9. Dale Harcombe

If you can accept the premise of three strangers working together on a dilapidated mansion in an attempt to get their lives back on track and make enough money for them to live on, then you should enjoy this novel It is a novel about how circumstances do not always turn out as we would like and how friendships spring from unlikely beginnings I loved how Madeline, the one who had been a stay at home mum for years was the one who proved to be most practical in getting the three woman and the renov [...]

This book was fun because it brought parts of my everyday life HGTV, Costco, Sams Club, that sort of thing I must admit I skimmed some here and there as I often do when the story is light I did not figure out the ending and thought most of the drama quite realistic I will probably at some point read the entire series or at least book number two to see what I think.

I think Wendy Wax is fast becoming a favorite author Her characters are believable and every book has one person that each of us can relate to Her scenarios are not too far fetched and her stories make for compelling reading I could hardly put this book down and can t wait to start book 2 and see what happens to my favorites She has certainly left me guessing.

  12. Sheila

Oh dear, another series with interesting characters, setting and story line And an old house to renovate , on the beach I ll be reading .

  13. Chris

I thought the book was pretty enjoyable Though I took my time reading it, that was only because of real life stuff getting in the way But it was an easy read and I got through it quickly, whenever I did get the chance to pick it up If I were a beach person this would be a good book to take there with me Occasionally the story felt like it could be predictable, although not necessarily in a bad way Although I was not expecting a view spoiler celebrity hide spoiler appearance later on The stronges [...]

I first reviewed this for luxuryreadingMalcolm Dyer has become the newest most hated man in America after destroying numerous people s lives with a Ponzi scheme that robbed them of their money His victims are devastated and many have lost everything they had Three women have been awarded partial ownership in a beachside home as some recompense for the money they have lost Madeline Singer, a mother who finally felt ready to live her own life now that her children are grown but who is now left to [...]

  16. Trish

I ll happily accept a few unbelievable notions for the sake of a good story but this book was filled with improbabilities, and frankly the storyline wasn t all that exciting A house given as a random payout for those affected by a Ponzi scheme, rather than being sold off and the proceeds going into a fund One of the recipients is related to the person at the heart of the scheme, even if the FBI has yet to determine whether she s truly an innocent bystander and the press has yet to pick up the se [...]

It may be the perfect book to read for those who are trying to get in one beach vacation before the winter comes It is also a great book to read for those who are involved in renovation projects This story is about a group of eclectic women who met under unique circumstances and decide to restore a beach mansion named Bela Flora, located as you might guess on 10 Beach Road You may wonder about this unusual set up for a beach read type novel The back story on these women is their common thread o [...]

Madeline Singer is tried and needs a break Unfortunately, Madeline s life is about to get shook upside down very, quickly First Madeline receives a shocking surprise, when she learns that her husband was laid off from his job six months ago Than Madeline s daughter, Kyra returns home, only to inform her that she is pregnant Lastly, Madeline s husband tells her that they are broke He invested all their extra money with a man named Malcolm Dyer Malcolm ends up becoming a Bernie Madoff and leaves t [...]

4.5 starsAfter recently listening to the audiobook of While We Were Watching Downton Abbey and loving it I joined the Wendy Wax fan club and dived straight into her Ten Beach Road series The synopsis gives you the gist of things but what I love most about Wendy Wax is she totally gets her characters, female friendships, family dynamics, those mother daughter relationships that make you feel like you need therapy do you know what I mean She writes in such an intimate way they feel real to you, no [...]

Wendy Wax has an excellent beach read with substance in Ten Beach Road for those of you looking for an end of summer winner Ripped from the headlines, these three women find that their only remaining asset is a rundown beach house Bella Flora in Florida after Malcolm Dyer aka Bernie Madoff stole their life savings Madeline s life has been flipped upside down when she realizes her investment advising husband not only lost his clients money in a giant Ponzi scheme perpetrated by Dyer, but also tha [...]

  21. Sandy

Really liked this story A part of the 5 stars is that it is so close to home so close, in fact, some friends actually have a condo in what may be the location of Bella Flora on Pass a grille Beach The other reason is I am a sucker for stories with strong women characters and their bonding stories Great summer read at any time of year Thanks Cathy for the recommendation we need to get Kate to read this story

  22. Amanda

Ten Beach Road was a light, fun read for summer It s the story of three women, all victims of a Ponzi scheme, who each own a third of a house in need of renovations It s about friendship, love, perseverance, and strength At its heart, it s a book about relationships mother daughter, friends, romantic, and the relationship between a house and the people who care about it It was a great summer book that left me feeling happy and hopeful.

  23. Reading.Between.Wines

I honestly feel like my review is like a 3.5 or 3.75 stars but of course I can t choose either of those, and I definitely don t think this book deserves only a 3 It feels like the book took forever to read but it only took 2 days There is just so much in this book There was absolutely nothing that annoyed me about this book and I thought the plot was very interesting The characters were relatable and the book surprised me a couple of times I can t wait to read the next book

  24. Gramma

Perfect beach read. With gentle character development and interesting personalities the story unfolds to a surprising end It has enough tension to keep you wondering just how, or if, the intertwined situations can be successfully resolved Easy and fun.

  25. Ashley Ramsey

Great beach readThese women aren t waiting on Prince charming to save them, they re taking charge of their own lives Characters that you will love, and a pleasantly unpredictable plot Perfect southern, woman power book with a touch of romance.

  26. Megann Zeigler

I thought this was a fantastic book about friends coming together when needed for a common goal Definitely a book you should get for your reading list.

  27. Teressa

This was a very enjoyable read with interesting characters and plot.I would read from this author. It reminded me of a good chick flick movie with strong women characters.
