This is a novel I loved when I read it in college I didn t find it again until years later I still like it It s a coming of age story set in Utah at the turn of the century, kind of A Tree Grows in Brooklyn but not so hard edged After her parents die, the protagonist goes to live with relatives, and has to negotiate those changes while figuring herself out and trying to get an education There s a lot of funny sad dialog with her passive aggressive relatives, and some other interesting characters [...]

This story about a little girl in a dusty town is a beautiful Western Fairy Tale, complete with selfless young heroine, dreamy story telling grandpa, and the prince from the stories who finally rides into town In this case, the prince is the Sundance Kid Of course, it has been years and years since I ve read it I really need to reread this one.

  3. Edith

I read this book when I was about 10 or 11, and it was an enjoyable adventure Dorney I still remember her name is a young woman in the Old West, and a chance encounter leads her to fall in love with a notorious outlaw.

A coming of age western yarn for gals A book from 1953, I first read it as a teen then shared our heroine s misery since I also worked in an industrial laundry

A wonderful story that even has Butch Cassidy as a guest star This is an old fashioned novel with lots of plotlines, set in Utah at the end of the cowboy era

  8. Stephanie

This I really loved It was a little slow to start, but it really picked up and was a beautiful if somewhat angsty story of life and love in the late 1800 early 1900s Quite lovely.

Got this one at a used book store it is seriously old school The characters are fascinating though Some great historical folklore weaved throughout.
