Kind of an awful children s book you never really was told why she swallowed the rose and it just seemed like it was trying hard I m sure kids love it though.

This was given as a gift to the boys I was curious about this series and was glad we didn t spend money on it It is an interesting idea, I believe, based off the Old Lady who Swallowed A Fly However, as someone who helped treat those with swallowing addictions, this book bothered me and I found it odd The ending fixed that but as a mom that is constantly worried about kids swallowing random things, it was stressful I realize this might be overreacting but it was just an odd book.

There Was An Old Lady Who Swallowed A Rose follows the same pattern as other There was an Old Lady stories This one keeps a Valentine s Day theme throughout the book and wishes you a Happy Valentine s Day at the end I enjoy using these books in my classroom, but had not used or read this version before When I use these books I find it helpful to use the puppet or a felt board when teaching so I can incorporate State Standards while I read Educators can use this book to teach sequencing or positi [...]

This is another one of the The Little Old Lady Who Swallowed a books for Valentine s Day In this version, the little old lady is swallowing a bunch of different items so that she can make a gift for Valentine s Day This is a fun and engaging book for young readers I would use this book in my classroom around or on Valentine s Day to reinforce rhyming and repetition skills The story contains many repeating verses throughout so students would be able to become familiar with the words through repet [...]

I was unable to find a review on this book, however I did search the author and found her on the following site scholastic teachers bo It was interesting to me to see how all of these texts relate to each other Each has a different theme, for example this one can really relate to Valentine s Day, but they all are easy to read and very child friendly

This book seemed hastily put together and the ending just didn t make sense It was as if Colandro had a deadline and couldn t figure out how to make the book end well so she just ended it This book is definitely not as good as some of her other works

This is a series that the kids love I find this i one of the least engaging of the series It does not seem to flow as well as all other holiday versions The kids do like to imagine the old lady swallowing all the different things.
