Sweet Ophellia is a light, fun read with a surprising bit of depth and realism thrown in As odd as it may sound, Mr Rosenberg has succeeded in creating a sympathetic romantic hero in the form of a down on his luck, homeless man, Warren August, who s circumstances are portrayed with care and understanding while not stooping to trivial clich s We see life on the street from his despondent point of view yet are allowed to grow with him as events take place that will change his life Sounds heavy, hu [...]

I absolutely loved this book, couldn t put it down The entire title I received was called Sweet Ophelia and the Tinsle Town Blues Warren is down on his luck a vet who served and came home with a severe case of PTSD I think I have the letters correctly he loses the love of his life in persuing his music with his saxophone so he takes off for California He never made it there, he lived on the streets for three years, playing his sax for dollars and cents during the day and sleeping in a homeless s [...]

Think this was an freebie so no idea what to expect.Quick, easy read Seemed a bit rushed during the last few chapters although the chapter numbers were going up at an alarming rate one every few pages it seemed. The cover picture is a bit offputting but, as I said, it was free so thought I would give it a go Good love story, entirely implausible but hey, reading is all about giving in to the author s imagination.2 stars feels a bit low, maybe 2.5.

When I received this book for review it was first entitled Sweet Ophelia and the Tinseltown Blues and not what it is now, which is just Sweet Ophelia and it also had a totally different cover, which was amazing by the way, and not the one we see today With that being said, the changes don t really matter so much as the story, which I might add, was incredible.Upon first inspection I wasn t really sure what to make of this story but once I started I was amazed at how badly I was hooked to it This [...]

Sometimes one just has to take a chance That is what both the main characters in this story tell each other at different points That is what I chose to do when I downloaded this book on a whim.I am so glad I did Sweet Ophelia is a delightful story about a man that literally goes from the gutter to actor in one eventful day And from then on one is left wondering with everyone else how he got to where he was and how far he would go It is also the story of a young girl come to Hollywood to fulfill [...]

This is a sweet, romantic story It begins in Warren s world, as the homeless man searches through trash cans for food and plays his sax for money Then it takes us into the Hollywood scene when he crashes a movie shoot set for the free food Mistaken as an extra, he finds himself in the company of other bit players, including Bridget, an aspiring actress from St Louis She isn t sure she ll make it but she s a pushover for strays and takes him under her wing.Warren is an appealing hero He s still m [...]

Stumbled onto this sweet, pleasing little sparkly stone when it was free for the Kindle No smoky hot love scenes here, but plenty of self redemption and friendship and one of those rags to riches while maintaining one s humbleness stories Plot Homeless stunningly attractive Warren finds himself as an extra in a mobster movie and accidentally becomes a star with the help of a cute extra who is an aspiring actress But his demons quickly come back to haunt him and put his budding acting career and [...]

Sweet Ophelia is an enchanting and fun read I was captivated from the beginning The character building was done exquisitely The principle character is Warren August, a saxophone playing despondent homeless man struggling to survive in Hollywood The secondary characters inhabit the backdrop of the novel and help bring the story alive. In pursuit of food, Warren finds himself filching a meal from a catered meal table for extras on a movie production set and is mistakenly swept into the production A [...]

Why this was the book s title, I don t understand Ophelia had the smallest role in my opinion so after I finished the book, I had to double check the title again. If there was just a tiny bit of promise for the story, it got lost altogether in its too abrupt ending Yes, Warren made it alright but what about his street buddies Between these homeless men and Ophelia, they were deserving of the title role It s so unfair that even if the story focused on their way of life in a major way, they seem t [...]

I read and enjoyed Kenneth Rosenberg s first book No Cure for the Broken Hearted but I liked this book even I liked the way it gave a nod to his first book won t say where to avoid spoilers This is not a forumlaic romance but is well written with good characterisation A great feel good story.

This was a sweet story I don t recall that many funny parts, and I certainly wouldn t call it a comedy There were scenes that tried to be funny, such as when the hero was standing in the street yellingmething that was supposed to be funny I don t even remember The romance is sweet, though, and the author did a good job of showing us both characters struggles to find themselves and believe in their love.

This book was offered free on Kindle I read alot so the price is right We ll see, it doesnt sound like I am going to love it, but it may be a light fun read This was a fun, light easy read I enjoyed it, and particularly liked that although it was a romance , it was clean I am no prude but I dislike detailed sexual exploits in novels, I find them unnecessary to the plot, honestly Try it, it was kind of fun, and the Kindle price is right

Sweet light story which easily held my interest A little star crossed romance which, of course, is resolved in the end but the road to the end takes a few twists and turns which made it a bit interesting If you re looking for a light, quick, read with a bit of romance, then read this one.

A quick read, but the title and the cover are a bit misleading it s not about a girl named Ophelia, she is just a side story Free book on , so I can t really say much else It was worth 0.00 and a bit .

  16. Pat Christie

EbookUnusual story, not the expected storyline Homeless, war veteran, nice girl, old love and movie stars make this a unique read.
