This book was a most truly remarkable book I have ever read It was a harrowing account of the Auschwitz Jews, and their plight at the hands of the brutal Nazi SS captors. It was beautifully written, and I was gripped by the story from start to finish At times it made me tearful, as you could almost feel the pain of the unfortunate prisoners. However their are glimpse s of hope for these poor unfortunate souls, as the Sonderkommandos, as they were called These brave prisoners fought back, and succe [...]

I would like to write some sort of positive review for this book, but I can t The author seems to have researched just enough facts to keep the timeline and major characters or less accurate at least superficially but that is it The situations are impossible to believe The fictional family of this story comes across as forced and not credible at all extremely one dimentional In fact, they are so sickeningly sweet that it literally made me want to gag If this were a true story, it would make thi [...]

Although a good tale of man s inhumanity to their fellow man I did struggle with this book I think it was mainly to do with the writing style, in places it was almost as though it was from a bad translation, although maybe this only happens on the e book version The characters were good and you did feel as though you got to know this Jewish family as they suffered I am glad that I read this book, but unless someone had a specific interest in this topic I would find it difficult to recommend

If you read and were mesmerized by Anne Frank, you should read this book It is a fictional tale, but there are so many details that you can see the history here I found it to be a very fast read as I followed the tale of the Horowitz family I believe it is well worth reading.
