I had this book sitting on my Kindle for the longest time and I finally decided to read it Unfortunately, I was super disappointed Right from the start, this book just hit me weird Everything was odd and I still can t really put my finger on what made it so awkward to read It kind of felt like a draft instead of the finished book The main character was, in my opinion, overly teenager She said a lot of things that older adults seem to think all teens say all the time Things like my fave and alway [...]

This is a gem of a book and I now have to read everything on Lynn Rush s back list while I wait for the other books in this series to come out Frostbite was such a refreshing read At first glance, Amanda seems like a predictable ya heroine She has one friend, her parents are dead, and discovers her powers have grown, is escaping bad guys and suddenly the most popular boy in school likes her However, instead of an absentee guardian, she is looked after by her older brother, who is always present [...]

Can I just begin my review with how awesome the cover is Some book covers do not reflect their content but this one does perfectly The story is about a girl called Amanda who has had an unhappy past full of tragedy and who is very much in need of some normality in her life Amanda comes across as someone who is cold and unfriendly when she is in fact fearful of losing those she may get close to Amanda has a strong relationship with her brother Scott and they look out for each other What makes Ama [...]

Also posted to Jen in Bookland2.5 starsI started Frostbite and thought oh this is going to be a long book I really was not enjoying the story for about the first half of the book Amanda was annoying and justI was not enjoying it Then somehow in the second half I started getting into it and by the end I thought this was not too bad I even thought I might read the second book when it came out, until I read the sneak peek and then decided never mind it was a strange thing Bad, good, then back to ba [...]

I have been extremely lucky to get to read this ARC of Frostbite I absolutely love a hot steamy romance, but if I m not reading a good romance I want something on the sci fi, paranormal, outta this world type story, with a touch of romance Frostbite is exactly that Amanda and her brother,Scott, are on their own Their parents passed away due to a tragic accident She is so close to having a normal life unlike the past 4 years She is trying to stay out of trouble, graduate, and has the best friend [...]

The story is unique and one I really enjoyed Mandy is a tough heroine and I liked her believable attitude of wanting to belong someplace and be normal despite the circumstances The world building is great Mandy already knows about her powers and we dive right into why she and her brother are in hiding I liked that there wasn t a lot of build up and instead we got thrown right in I really liked the explanation behind Mandy s frosty fingertips which I won t say to avoid spoilers The twist was some [...]

A 2 A 2.5 Yes, thereabouts I paused at 70% and didn t touch this book until two days after and I struggled to motivate myself to read the last 50 pages It didn t hold my attention any longer. In the beginning, I was all Yay Someone with cryokinesis I can ride with this Then, typical tropes galore OMG, WHY Frostbite had great premise but then the boy came and sigh instalove Girl, you could deny him all you want but as you said you wanted a boyfriend badly But nooooo, I could hurt him It s impossib [...]

I don t really know what to say I thought the characters were kind of annoying I think it fell a little short at times The action scenes were the only part I liked about this book Which is why it gets two stars instead one one. There were times it was repetitive and times where I was bored Also her relationship with Zach was just weird to me Don t take that to mean I was bothered about the declaration of love so early Sometimes that s life I just didn t really feel it, and I m not talking sex The [...]

  13. Irayda Moran (Quezada)

Being normal for Amanda and Scott has not been easy Not when Amanda is able to shoot ice and snow from her hands Not to mention they have to keep an eye out for the coats The Coats are never far behind But Amanda is tired of running and is ready to fight She is dating a sweet hottie name Zach Graduation is around the corner and Amanda can t fathom leaving her best friend Georgia Frostbite has likable characters action, secrets and friendship Great book from Lynn Rush for everyone

  15. NeverEver

I loved the cover Made me want to get the book But I was hugely disappointed The protagonist was annoying and wallowing in self pity a lot Always expecting the worse of people around her The instant love was not believable I like the premise but it failed to delivery I will not continue reading the series.

  17. Ann Miller

This was my first paranormal novel, and I was surprised how much I enjoyed it Despite her superhuman powers, Amanda is a very relatable, lovable character Rush made me believe this could really happen I also enjoyed the fast paced action and the romance.

Ever since their parents were brutally murdered, Amanda and Scott have been on the run The same shady science organization that was behind their parents deaths wants to abduct Amanda and use her in their research thanks to the supernatural powers superstrength and the ability to shoot snow and ice from her hands that she inherited from their mother and is struggling to keep control over Life isn t easy when you re a teenage in small town just trying to keep your head down and make it to graduati [...]

  22. Jennifer Collins

This was an easy, fast read that got better as it went on, but I ll also admit that, for the first ten pages or so, I really thought about just putting it down and forgetting about, the voice was so over the top and things, in generally, so silly As I said, it did get better, but it continued throughout to feel a little too light and cheesy, and a fair bit too contrived, for me to really enjoy it By the time I got halfway through, I was engaged and even amused by it, but never to the point where [...]

My Summary Amanda s mother had super strength, and the ability to create and manipulate ice, snow, and sleet abilities she passed on to her daughter, but not her son The organization that experimented on Amanda s mom, and eventually murdered her, is out to capture and study Amanda tooor possibly kill her if she won t comply Every time the scientists henchmen find Amanda and her brother Scott, the siblings flee and have to start over again in a new town Except this time, Amanda has a best friend [...]

Received an e copy of the book for free to write an honest review. This book was honestly fantastic, I read it in its entirety in one sit in from cover to cover The character development was really good, although Mandy seemed bi polar at times with how often she would jump from opinion to contradicting opinion You do see her mature through out the story, it goes from her wanting to satisfy her selfish desires to her wanting to give up her chance at normalcy for the love of her life But the relati [...]

Frostbite is an upper YA NA novel following the lives of siblings Amanda and Scott Hillman It is the sweet story following Mandy s journey as she tries to find her way in a world that she has always struggled to fit into All Mandy and her brother Scott really want is a place to finally call home after being on the run for four years following the tragic deaths of their parents Unfortunately Mandy s super human abilities that the Coats want to either study or destroy makes that nearly impossible.
