This was a fun book to listen to It had a fairly simplistic story, but one that also didn t have too many annoyances The reader was okay they got the guy who does the voices of the Daleks, and he s done other books but just okay It was good that he had distinctive and understandable voices for everyone, and although none of the voices or accents were particularly on target, it was okay once you got everyone straight in your head In this case, the Ninth Doctor is in a space casino with Rose and C [...]

Overall okay and the reader did a really decent Ninth Doctor voice The Doctor, Rose, and Jack try to figure out the strange vigilante who has started to kill folks for even minor infractions There s a big slimy mob boss and chases and the Hardnose Detective and the heartfelt reveal So, formulaic but overall fine and fun to listen to.

  3. Jennifer Taylor

It wasn t perfect, but it was still very good I enjoyed listening to this, the narrator s voice for the 9th doctor was extremely good though it could have been a bit better for Capt Jack And the story is a good one, it fits well into the Doctor Who world.

BY FAR THE BEST DESTINY OF THE DOCTOR AUDIOBOOK I VE LISTENED TOloved the setting, loved the villain s, loved the twist The ending was unfortunately a little anti climactic, otherwise this would ve been a five star story experience for me

  5. Stacey Smith

I thoroughly enjoyed this fun little adventure with Nine, Rose, and Jack It reminded how much I miss them all.

  6. Jesse Rice

Definitely best so far Perfect tone with 9, well written, emotional and thought provoking Wonderful.

The Night of the Whisper is a quick, fun, read It follows Rose, Nine, and Captain Jack on one of their many travels through time and space I listened to this as an audio and it was only an hour long Trying to fit in some last minute quick reads to meet and possibly exceed my goal for the year This is definitely a good pick for fans of Doctor Who.

Gosh, what a treat this was It was great to be transported back to the 9th Doctor s era with this Hearing him along with Rose and Jack on an adventure again made me realize how much I d missed the 9th Doctor The story itself was engaging, and very comic book and I don t say that as a negative, believe me and a lot of fun.Like others, I was initially a bit bummed that none of the companions came back to read the book like in the other entries in this series But Briggs does such an amazingly good [...]

The 9th of 11 50th anniversary audio adventures from Big Finish Audio Unlike the other adventures in this series, a companion actor from the era does t provide the narration Instead, Night of the Whisper is read by Nicholas Briggs frequent Big Finish writer producer performer and the voice of the Daleks. This is a Nine, Rose and Captain Jack adventure, set somewhere in the last quarter of the first season of the New Doctor Who series Cavan Scott, a Big Finish regular and author of the Doctor Who [...]

I really enjoyed hearing a story with Nine, Rose and Jack back together again It was a pretty good story Not quite up to broadcast standards, but it was enjoyable The characterization of the characters felt a little off They seemed to be there simply to react to things, but I didn t feel like it was them , really It s hard to explain but there wasn t much about anything that Jack did that made him Jack like in the story other than that he mentioned girls and a guy being interested in him And oth [...]

I really enjoyed this segment of the story focusing on the ninth Doctor, Rose, and Capt Jack in New Vegas Fast paced, decent plot with a few unexpected twists, and quality banter between the characters I was slightly disappointed with the fact that none of the television actors did the voice acting for this, but Nicholas Briggs reading totally makes up for that He made the story came to life and did an excellent job of shifting between ninth and Jack, with his accent for Eccleston being pretty s [...]

It was very short, but because of that, it really felt like an episode It was fun and interesting, but not a particularly strong story in the series It was written for audio, and so it had some elements that were radio play like There were sound effects, sometimes without a narration You only know the explosion happened because of the sound effect There was also a separate performer for one of the characters I prefer the longer stories that give you time to really get into it.

  13. Aidan

One of the most enjoyable stories in this range The adventure features the TARDIS team of the Ninth Doctor, Rose and Captain Jack and each character is perfectly pitched as is the tone of this story. The recording is enhanced by a superb reading from Nick Briggs who captures every aspect of the character from his nonchalance to his sudden bursts of excitement This is definitely worth acquiring for Ninth Doctor fans regardless of whether you are collecting the rest of the range.

  14. Melenia

Descent audio Nicholas Briggs does a great job, but it s not the same as having the full cast These are my favorite characters, but they don t ring quite true Still an enjoyable audio.

  15. Jim Grenier

I did this one as an audio book, not sure if that s quite cheating on my yearly read goal The story is well written and true to the characters Good to see Captain Jack back with 9 and Rose Tyler on this one Nicholas Briggs and John Schwab are excellent in the voice and production department 9 himself sounds remarkably like Christopher Eccleston s version Overall wait for it Fantastic

  16. Molly

This was an entertaining listen while I tackled chores around the house The cast certainly makes it easier to tell who is speaking, but it is a little odd to hear different voices associated with characters I m already familiar with Still fun to have an adventure with Nine, Rose, and Jack all together again

  17. Debra Cook

Nicholas Briggs narrating aChris Ecclestan adventure was a lot of fun and he does a great impression of Chris Adventure a great one focusing on a girl who died but then get turned into a space law officer Still don t know what Matt s unto but I might find out in David s adventure.

  18. Paulo "paper books always" Carvalho

Nothing much to say about this I will not be making a review Didn t enjoy that much Only to anyone who wants to read everything from the first three doctors.

  19. Clacie

They say you never forget your first Doctor, and 9 definitely holds a special place in my heart Loved reconnecting with him for a new adventure Fantastic
