Good book I liked both Josie and Sol Josie had the independence and determination to go after what she wanted She also seemed to be something of a magnet for trouble I enjoyed seeing the way her mind worked and the lengths she went to to reach her goals She is rather cynical about men and this causes some trust issues between her and Sol Meanwhile, Sol has his own trust issues with Josie, but he can t stay away from her He also can t tell her who he really is, which causes its own set of problem [...]

This was actually a good story that held my interest all the way to the end But I didn t buy the fact that the heroine was pretty much either alone or unchaperoned in a tent city like setting full of lusty men looking for wives I couldn t believe that she wasn t suffering from attempted rape every 5 minutes Especially at night She was all alone in her tent no doors to lock, etc and I couldn t buy that all of the undesirables pestered her to get married with them, but never attempted anything nef [...]

Treachery on land runs. This is a humorous slant on dangers of fulfilling a dream, gaining a slice of heaven especially for unattached women. The two central women find a unique way to field off offers from land hungry sod busters while unintentionally getting dragged into a deadly swindle Who to trust becomes less obvious.I enjoyed the quick wit, plotting, imaginative solutions as well as the sheer determination not to capitulate Always vigilant alert to the next travesty to behold.

A mostly sweet Historical romance I have read other books by Carol Finch and I haven t read a bad one yet Both Josephine Sol are made for each other and the not telling each other what is needed or what they want makes for a great story BTW I have it listed on paperbackswap if anyone would like to read it hint, hint
