    John Mantooth is so good that it hurts to finish anything of his knowing first, that I don t have to read, and second, that I m nowhere near as good a writer as he is Broken Branch is wonderful and heartbreaking and all of the superlatives that I could think of to describe what I love best in southern gothic.
