Pros Beautiful watercolors, sweet story about caring for animals, daughter Abba make a good team, a few Hebrew vocabulary wordsCons Abba pets baby birds, but I ve been told touching them is a bad idea because perhaps their parents will stop taking care of them when they smell like humans.

The drawings are beautiful and the Israeli setting is unique and lovely While the setting is interesting, the story lacks specificity and a deeper truth And enjoyable story, but not one to read again and again.

A bird is injured near a kibbutz in Israel and a girl and her father nurse it back to help, pleasant story and illustrations, wish the illustrations and or text were clear as to the injury, I can see young readers asking what is wrong with the stork.

  4. Edward Sullivan

A daughter and father rescue and build a nest for a wild stork that gets tangled in the nets of a fish pond on their kibbutz Lovely illustrations.

I could see this being enjoyable to a stork enthusiast or a reader new to the concept of things working out for the rest of us, maybe not so intriguing.
