If I would follow the GR rating system this would be a one star I didn t like it.I ll be damned if I know what I did just read There was a Poenix shifter, burning skin and flames, a gorilla called Ben, little kids with ouchies, a men hating mother, a meddling bestie with baby, explosions, sex, irritating leaps in time, Ra, Egypt, rebirthmething like this.A story like an eel Everytime it started to grab my attention it slipped away again boring.Note The story has 112 pages, not the 219 pages stat [...]

I ve been sleeping with who Face palm Spectacularly awkward Takes a good friendship to keep sailing through this one Good job, Avery Now, Bren on the other hand is a dick to be fair, it is genetic That boy started at a disadvantage and just kept digging the hole bigger every time he opened his mouth Thinken speak, idiot His rough start transitions albeit not perfectly, but I bought into it Of course, the smoking hot, plein air sexual interlude was both creative and naughty enough to completely e [...]

3 3 1 2 HeartsReview written for MM Good Book Reviewsmmgoodbookreviews.wordpress Michael is the phoenix, an immortal being created by Ra, his five hundred year rebirth is approaching and he wishes he had someone to help him through the scary time When he meets Dylan he thinks he might have found the man to help him, but he soon learns that trusting Dylan would be a huge mistake Michael s coffee shop friend Avery wants him to meet her brother, Bren, but when they do meet it isn t in the greatest [...]

My first phoenix shifter story It was intriguing I enjoyed the mythology, the journey to Ra, the rebirth I thoroughly enjoyed Michael, the red headed Egyptian phoenix shifter with ancient Egyptian eye makeup permanently tattooed on his face He was lovely and surprising and sweet and honest and refreshing. His friendship with Avery and all that happened between them was heartbreaking and sweet at the same time.I had a harder time with Bren, Avery s brother He just seemed to switch too quickly from [...]

I loved this book I ve previously read another book by this author that had a completely new take on the afterlife, and this was, to me, a completely new take on shifters.Michael is a phoenix, a mythical creature that has to die in flames every 500 years and be reborn again He was created by the Egyptian god Ra several thousand years ago and has thus done the whole burn and resurrect thing times than he cares to remember Since he s essentially immortal he s also done the love and loss of a huma [...]

This book really wasn t what I was expecting, it was so much It starts with with what I thought was going to be a standard story a woman and a gay guy are BFF s and hang out in a coffee shop a lot while they try to fix each other up, with the twist being the phoenix And then it veers off into original territory Avery isn t a SWF and Michael s backstory and this version of the phoenix myth is intriguing The friends have things in common family and differences also family , but they just click to [...]

The story started of really good It was pretty fast paced and had lots of cool twists However I found a few things got brushed under a little such as Shin and Avery I loved the story between Michael and Bren I have to say the one twist with the phoenix being saved so they could be together was shocking, explosive and worth the whole book I gasped and I cried, and chewed off with little nails I have to find out what Ra would do I was pleasantly surprised If you want to know what I m rambling so a [...]

This was an enjoyable read And the tie in with Ra, the sun God, was well done The Phoenix in this version shifted many times during the story because he kept lighting himself on fire He even almost burnt off his loves mouth at one point Their love and HEA spoke to the things one would willingly give up for love and the sacrifices he she might make Fun secondary characters and light humour were used by the author to keep the story light, but I am sure that the pull to go over to the dark side was [...]

3.5 starsI haven t read many stories that involve phoenixes but this one was interesting It was fun getting to know Michael and discovery what was new through his eyes was interesting The ending was nice although I though Bren was a doofus for ignoring Michael s warning and falling into the nest I disliked their mother for obvious reasons Avery was a cool character to read about and I feel bad that her husband was cheating ass.

I simply could t see the two MC s together The relationship was too sudden The dynamics changed to quickly for me The overall story line was just ok The blurb was good, but for me didn t really pan out.
