A cute, nerdy story about two professors finding love with each other around Valentine s Day Can I just get one thing off my chest Professors do NOT talk like these two men in the story They simply do not I ve been around academics and geeks for years, and I ve never encountered anyone who speaks with such stilted, pretentious dialogue It felt forced to the max, and if I was ever sleeping with anyone who started quoting literature in the bedroom with a straight face, they would be booted out in [...]

Nerd Alarm This is a sweet, cheesy love story The way these two shy, adorable college professors get to know each other is told very entertaining Loved the letters from Cupid I thoroughly enjoyed the story Recommended I guess I need to create a new shelf for those two guys nerds love.

Silly and cheesy and romantic EXACTLY what a Valentine s tale should be Topped off with an awesome sex scene, Happy Valentine s Day M M romance fans

This story was cute, whimsical, and romantic, but I had to shake my head at the stilted language I didn t mind the letters being so formal and awkward, because it was correspondence with Cupid after all, but the way these guys talked, good lord, no wonder they weren t getting laid I m an academic, and I can assure you that the only academic I ve known who talked like that was 86 and had won the Noble Prize. If you can push aside the copious amounts of cheese, this is a sweet, no angst, lightly st [...]

This story was nice don t get me wrong, these guys are over 40, posh Academics and a little bit boring Don t mind me, I m just plain and simple and these 2 guys were far too Academic for my taste.

Letters from Cupid is one of the sweetest, purely old fashioned romantic stories I ve read This was read 3 and it s become my Valentine s go to because it gets the feel of love and what Valentine s Day is about just right for me and my normally cold dead heart It s also refreshing to read a story set in a college about the professors with nary a frat party to be found.Professors Macon and Derek are uber Academics and reading the letters between Cupid and Eros give you a big clue why Macon s not [...]

It was refreshing to read a story with a college setting, where both MC s are professors and have some realistic maturity to them Not a frat party to be found. This was a really sweet story full of old fashioned romance that was a perfect Valentine s Day read.

3.5 stars Valentine s Day isn t far away, so this little romance with Cupid in it s title fits the bill very nicely As it says in the synopsis, it features two college English professors Dr Derek Chandler and Dr Macon Pinney. Both heading towards forty, they ve worked together at the college for seven years but have never really interacted much during that time.Shy and reserved, Macon is not an unfriendly man but he is quiet and a touch withdrawn so tends to keep himself to himself Secretly, he s [...]

2.5 starsA short, intelligent story about academics in love It was smart and charming the language kind of old fashioned, but I enjoyed this slow courting, probably because it was such a subtle, mature romance with random acts of kindness running through the plot because that s the reason the missives from Cupid started, someone cared that the professor was not having a good valentine s day and our anonymous writer wanted to bolster Derek. But this story was quite subtle and slow pretty slow to t [...]

Nice Valentine short ish story I liked the fact that both men were in their 40 s Having said that, they talked or wrote like in fictional situation rather than in real life lol

  11. Candice

This story was cute, but kind of stilted I had to fight to not become bored in the dialogue Nobody in real life talks the way these two did I loved how shy they both were though, even in their 40 s, especially Macon with his hermit self There was a name mix up Mason instead of Macon and that s my number one pet peeve in reading.Overall, it was cute little Valentine s Day read.

  12. Kudrat Kaur

While these two were cavity inducing to read, I wasn t too impressed It s a typical Valentines short with its cheesiness so much can be forgiven Still I ll be critical in what bothered me about this book. This is a story about a professor Derek who s never had that spark with anyone in his life, and another professor Macon who is in actuality a teenaged girl They re both obvious nerds and their love for literary figures was a great touch The way they communicated, although I would roll my eyes so [...]

After Macon, of Letters from Cupid by Ari McKay, accidentally overhears that his colleague, Derek, has been dumped by his lover and that Derek thinks he will never find anyone else, Macon wants to find a way to bolster Derek s self confidence Since it s close to Valentine s Day, Macon comes up with the idea of sending Derek letters relaying to him what Cupid thinks are his good qualities and why anyone would be fortunate to be his partner It takes a while to talk himself into it, but eventually, [...]

This was the perfect Valentine s Day tale two sweet, slightly nerdy profs communicating via letters in the weeks leading up to February 14th After overhearing a conversation in the office next door, occupied by one Dr Derek Chandler, university professor, Macon Pinney whose name I repeatedly read as Mason disagrees with Derek s assessment of his love life and pens a letter to his colleague, signing it Cupid. And thus begins a back and forth correspondence between Macon Cupid and the object of his [...]

Two forty ish professors Slow burn Subtle wooing Poems Chocolate Desk sex heavy make out.A cute and sweet Valentine story of not exactly friend but next door office colleagues Angst free and very low level quickly resolved misunderstanding Both characters were mature men of 40 and 42, so they re pretty low key and level headed Pretty heartwarming read for Valentine s Day.

  16. Leaundra

I really enjoyed this love story of these guys over 40 It was so sweet how they got to know each other and when they finally got together, very hot.

  17. Serena Yates

Nerdy professors are some of my favorite characters, and this story has not one, but two Imagine my enthusiasm when reading the blurb and realizing that the stars of this novella are two English professors one is pretty sociable but has just broken up with his latest boyfriend, the other is shy and withdrawn and doesn t believe anyone could possibly be interested in him Both men are lonely, share a passion for language, and have no idea they are made for each other I was rubbing my hands in glee [...]

4.5 Stars This is an absolutely adorable Valentine s Day story A lot of times I m not a fan of an overly fluffy story so I admit to being skeptical about this one when it caught my eye Valentine s Day is synonymous with overly sweet and ridiculously romantic Well, this one was very sweet and the romance ALMOST tipped the scale.I found the whole idea of a colleague genuinely caring about another so much he tries to lift him up by pretending to be cupid and writing him a Buck up you re a hell of a [...]

SO PERFECT for Valentine s Day I LOVED this It s a short and wonderfully well done story that just warms your heart I don t care for the cover though it s gorgeous because these guys are over 40 and the guys on the cover look to be about 25 Come on Give me a little gray hair But inside, there are two incredibly sweet guys who are so lonely but so perfect for each other. There s even a pretty hot sex scene and a very satisfying HEA.If you re a fan of the geeky romance, older MCs, short stories, re [...]

Actually, 3.5, for one reason alone Derek s ex shows up, and Derek excuses himself, saying he has things to do Macon turn up, and when the ex asks who he is, Macon says I m things Clever, clever, clever D

Sometimes you find what you are craving in the person you are with by finding your Cupid.Derek was feeling as though life was passing him by and that he would never find the one person that would help him to release the passion he knew was out there but was starting to doubt that he would ever feel or find Especially after his relationship of three years ended and he really did not feel bad about it ending. After speaking with his friend and colleague about his feelings an anonymous letter signed [...]

Cupid Took EnglishI would usually give a synopsis, but the blurb for this story tells it perfectly and I can t improve on perfection.I loved the concept of the shy, introvert college professor writing Cupid letters to his neighboring professor of Shakespeare However, half of this book is the letters back and forth with little dialogue We get to read the thoughts and feelings of each professor, but I really wanted dialogue.I liked Macon He s very shy and is not a social person, but he s great at [...]

Note This book was provided to me by the publisher through Hearts on Fire Reviewsin exchange for an impartial review English Professor Derek Chandler bemoans his single fate as Valentine s Day approaches In speaking to a friend, he reveals how empty and lonely his life feels and how he longs to find the love of his life but fears that it s never going to happen His past relationships have all fizzled out so he assumes that he just can t maintain passion and interest with a man long enough to bui [...]

Copy provided to Bayou Book Junkie by Dreamspinner Press for my reading pleasure in hopes of an unbiased opinion, a review was not a requirement Professor Derek Chandler and his boyfriend have broken up and it doesn t leave him feeling as heartbroken as he should after their three years together He s beginning to doubt that he s capable of feeling long term passion for somebody, or inspiring long term passion in them Now that he s no longer a young man, maybe it s time to accept that he s going [...]

The story was very cute I really enjoyed reading this one it was a very easy read The aroey was just awesome not wow but still awesome and very fun.I liked both characters Macon s insecurities just broke my heart But I came to realize that I too have those exact insecurities Everything he was saying just felt too real for me that s why enjoyed his POV so much I saw myself on Derek too, with an outgoing personality nobody really thinks that you re desperate for something to happen in your life.Th [...]

This ended up being really cute People communicating through letters is one of my favorite tropes in fiction and this did a good job with it The beginning is a little rough and I have a few tiny quibbles with the ending, but overall this is a fun, quick read.
