It wasn t totally awful, but it wasn t very good either Red Sonja reminded me of a b list Wonder Woman rip off.

Certainly an innovative pair up With Peter Parker dating another red head, the coupling proves to be quiteausible the old spirit of one person inhabits the body of another person trick The dialogue is cheesy in most parts but the writers do a neat job of incorporating some of Spider Man s most notable allies and enemies Did I mention cheesy though Still, we are talking about a woman warrior in chain mail bikini one tends to feel generous when that s the pay off

Included at the tail end is an old Claremont Byrne Spider Man and Red Sonja team up In 17 pages they have fun In the course of 5 issues and in excess of 100 pages Oeming and Rubi take fun, whack it on the back of the head, fill it full of embalming fluid, and put it on parade What a gross waste of time The Michael Turner covers sure are nice to look at though.

Tha art was good and the premise was interesting and different I didn t expect much from this crossover but it was a fun little read I actually enjoyed the older comic in the back of the book than the re make of it I love both the characters and overall it was worth the read to me The story felt a bit choppy and under explained at times but I m nit picking now.

A story that could ve been told in half of the issues it took to tell. Some nice wise cracks, some nice action but mostly a yawn. And the art the art Rubi really dropped a pen in this one Like he knew nothing about the basic anatomy.

This volume collects two stories a 1978 Spider Man Red Sonja team up, and its sequel, a five issue miniseries from 2007 2008 The older story is presented last, but I m going to review it first.Spider Man first encounters Red Sonja, a female barbarian from Conan s time, in MARVEL TEAM UP 79 The story is co plotted by Chris Claremont and John Byrne, scripted by Claremont, and penciled by Byrne, with Terry Austin providing inks It begins when a museum guard is possessed by Kulan Gath, a sorcerer fr [...]

There are two stories contained in this one volume Both oddly tell very similar stories Kulan Gath attempts to take over modern day New York City and Spider Man and Red Sonja thwart him While both stories are entertaining in their own rights it s interesting to compare and contrast the storytelling techniques employed. The first story is a modern five issue mini series Given its modernity the storytelling is much self aware, with several nods to fans without actually breaking the fourth wall A [...]

Michael Avon Oeming serves up a fantasy team up by setting Spider Man and Red Sonja up against Kulan Gath A mystical amulet frees ancient sorcerer Kulan Gath into the modern world, where he seeks to transform New York into a medieval paradise under his rule In order to keep Spidey at bay, Gath mystically merges Red Sonja with the body of Mary Jane Watson and pits the heroes against one another The addition of Venom to the mix does little to help matters especially when Gath takes the alien symbi [...]

Pretty meh The plot is fine as far as excuses to team up two awesome but improbable one is in modern day New York City and the other is in a fantastical, magical world presumably in the far past characters, but the whole revert to Ye Olde English bit got real old real fast The art was actually decent, despite what the god awful fanservice covers would indicate Who actually thinks it looks good to pose Red Sonja on her tipy toes every single cover to give the allusion of high heels She s wearing [...]

When I was a kid I loved the Red Sonja movie a fact which I now find totally embarassing so I was curious what a Spiderman Red Sonja comic would be like It was just kind of Meh but I guess fans of Spiderman or Red Sonja graphic novels would be interested in this It was kind of neat to see a reprinting of the original Spiderman Red Sonja comic from 1979 at the end of this one.

It was an okay read it did have some great moments in it with Spiderman and the artwork was well done but I think some parts of the story let it down and probably would have worked if it was a bit longer Definitely recommend this for any fan though of Spiderman or the Red Sonja and Conan fans to read.

  14. Dave

This was pretty bad I only gave it two stars because I liked the art I know this is a comic book, but it was way too hokey for me.

WTFprops to Venom, who came from absolutely nowhere and had zero reason to be in this storyAlso Red Sonja Mary Jane, I guess Peter has a silver mail bikini kink verdict ebin kek d
