How can a place be a home if no one wants you there I ve always had a weird relationship with Ahern s books I ve never been particularly intrigued by the stories presented in her novels, until The Marble Collector attracted my attention I loved it, even though I faced certain issues with the construction of the characters and the dialogue Lyrebird won me over with its beautiful front cover and with the blurb that reminded me of the film Nel with Jodie Foster and Liam Neeson I thought I d find a [...]

Ok where do I start with this book150 odd pages in and I was bored senseless,it was a challenge to even pick up the book and continue reading It wasn t even that it was slow with nothing really happening but the plot was just boring A woman found on a mountain who can mimic any sound and so this film crew want to do a documentary on her.My biggest problem from the start was that I just didn t like any of the characters though I kinda liked Bo,the film producer even if she was a bit selfish only [...]

I am no bird and no net ensnares me I am a free human being with an independent will Charlotte Bront Cecelia Ahern, the 1 international bestselling author, pens her new contemporary fiction, Lyrebird which reads like a breathy timeless romantic fantasy of music and love and it centers around a young male documentary filmmaker and a lonely exotic and wild girl of the mountains with a rare talent to mimic whatever sound she hears and when these two meet, both of their worlds and lives change for t [...]

This is hands down one of the worst books I have ever read, and here s why Laura is downright annoying Yes, I know she s supposedly been isolated from the whole world her entire life But she s annoying Her mimicking borders on completely ridiculous She can apparently mimic the noise of the sound of his fingers brushing his stubble PLEASE The author tries to pull off some sort of manic but innocent pixie girl nonsense with her character and it s irritating how every single character in the book m [...]

This review was originally posted on Between My LinesCan you imagine living your life in total isolation And then being thrust in the craziness of a reality show No Me, neither but that is the intriguing premise of Lyrebird by Cecelia Ahern First Line of Lyrebird by Cecelia Ahern He moves away from the others, their constant chat blending into a tedious monotonous sound in his head My Thoughts on Lyrebird by Cecelia Ahern Laura aka Lyrebird is such a unique character Twenty six year old Laura ha [...]

Words cannot really describe the depth of feeling that this story evoked in me When Solomon, a sound guy in a documentary crew, sees Laura hiding in the forest, he is mesmerised by her and shocked at their instant connection And as they discover the wonderful talent that Laura possesses, Solomon feels another link to her and falls even in love with her, even though they can never be together Laura has lived alone for so long, but is willing to embrace the changes that are happening to her, just [...]

This was a little silly and a lot sweet The perfect thing while lying in bed recovering from a nasty flu Probably closer to 3 rather than 4 stars, but that cover is lovely and I m feeling generous.

Life is in two parts who you were before you met her, and who you are after.A documentary crew discover a mysterious young women living alone in the mountains of West Cork Strikingly beautiful she has an extraordinary talent for mimicry, like the famous Australian Lyrebird The crew, fascinated, make her the subject of her story, and bestow the nickname upon her. When they leave, they take Lyrebird with them back to the city But as she leaves behind her peaceful life to learn about a new world, is [...]

I ve read a few of Cecelia s books and unfortunately they haven t really been my cup of tea for the most part, her writing style isn t something I find enjoyable With that in mind, when this was picked for a Book Club choice this month, I was determined to give her another go and read this with an open mind Once I got used to her particular style of writing I just went with it it is what it is, it s overly descriptive in some parts and really simplistic in others, it s full of lines that will on [...]

I must admit, this was not what I expected when I picked it up The whole filming a documentary aspect, with a film crew, reality TV show, etc was a bitrange For me.However, in terms of characters, and love story, it was captivating Again, for me The concept was great Creating a character like Laura, who can mimic sounds to perfection, was weirdly fascinating They call her the Lyrebird for that ability that she has, except people cannot seem to understand that she does not do it for show, she doe [...]

Popular Romantic Fiction really isn t my thing But this was one of the options in my online book club, and I thought I d give Cecilia Ahern the benefit of the doubt It can be refreshing to read a genre you wouldn t normally read now and then Also there are so few Irish Audiobooks, I ve only listened to about 4 including this.Plot a documentary crew stumble upon a young woman with a unique talent for mimicry Think Little Voice possessed by Michael Winslow and you have it.This started off really w [...]

I do love Cecelia s stories I have been reading her since she started publishing her work however I can t connect with this oneI have found recently that Ahern s latest books unlikely her earlier works have been a bit flat though have magical twangs to them but unlike some of her joyous works Lyrebird for me was disappointing, flat and droll when was the story going to begin And why all the daft names I don t understand why so many people have found a connection with this one when I really thin [...]

There really is nothing better than the annual Cecelia Ahern book She has such an ability to turn me into an emotional sobbing wreck That said I don t think Lyrebird is up there with my favourite of her books, and the 4 stars are pretty much a loyalty thing I feel like the idea of Laura and her Lyrebird abilities was much interesting than the talent show subplot it seemed contrived and cliche We all know the world of social media and viral videos corrupts beautiful and pure people things and I [...]

When you eagerly wait for a book and are disappointed after reading the first five pages itself I refuse to believe that Cecelia Ahern has written this book Her writing is beautiful, this book isn t It s cringeworthy, irritating and by far her worst I am hugely disappointed All of the characters were annoying Especially Solomon Ugh Bo was the only one I could manage because she seemed real I am used to falling in love with the male leads of Cecelia s books I couldn t even read a dialogue without [...]

bloodyrosered.wordpress 2I just love how Cecelia manages to make her books magical, even the ones which doesn t have a supernatural elements This one is one amazing fairytale for changes and the way we deal with them I am yet again convinced that this woman can make us think over the little things of life, to appreciate them and smile .

Gosh this is the second book in a row that had characters I could not relate to or root for When I read the synopsis for this I was super excited, it sounded fantastic but within the first few chapters I knew I wasn t going to get through to end It doesn t help that I just finished an epic book and now everything seems so dull and boring.

Firstly, I chose this book because of its beautiful cover and excerpt story However, I didn t think it would actually get a hold of me I reckoned it s going to be a chick flit, with the image of an indie romantic movie in mind, but not so much Cecelia Ahern managed to go further than that, and especially towards the end, I could dive into the core depth of the story Lyrebird is a wondrous woman, with a unique talent mimicking, unknowingly, the sounds around her This gift of hers, appreciated in [...]

Thank you, Sara for introducing to such a lovely read A solitary creature the lyrebird is the creature of the wild it possesses the power to impart ideas by a form of speechShe smiles and looks up at him, arms around his waist, Your Family hate me Hate is a very strong word, he kisses her gently My family don t like you She laughs, You are supposed to lie and tell me they adore me Adore is a very strong word They smile.

This actually hurts to write, but I absolutely did NOT like this book AT ALL Some of the characters made me so mad I also felt like the whole moral of this book was that if you just keep being completely helpless things will work out in the end I m usually not this tough when it comes to reviews, but I still get mad just thinking about this book.
