Charles Gramlich knows how to get you how to think, while layering and delivering a powerful punch Cold in the Light has a strong Frankenstein vein Creators and their creations show humanity s strengths and weaknesses through what they create and why.The Antagonist intrigued me the most There are two groups of whouns one of a nurturing nature, the other warkind The antagonist is the leader of the warkind Yet, he discovers he has both primitive and nurturing qualities He doesn t belong to either [...]

This is kind of a Frankenstein or even Jurassic Park inspired Science Fiction Horror Thriller that is extremely well written It keeps a revolving cast of characters involved moving toward a thrilling climax with plenty of graphic action throughout The story grabbed my attention and kept me riveted from the first couple of pages I don t want to give much away as I read this without really knowing anything about the story except for the publishers blurbs on the back cover which do not give much aw [...]

Best horror novel I ve ever read because it s one of the few that ever scared me By bending the rules of novel structure, Gramlich makes it impossible to predict what is going to happen and to whom The monsters are often as sympathetic as the people they kill, and both are victims of the true bad guys Why this novel did not make Gramlich a household name I don t know, but you should read it if you like good worldbuilding, beautiful prose, or horror.

COLD IN THE LIGHT sets in motion a cataclysmic clash between government forces, their lab grown warrior species called the Whoun, and everyday people caught in the middle The horrific flight of an escaping Whoun Mother, carrying a hybrid baby, highlights this adventure, featuring humanity and their creations at their best and worst Can an ending be spellbinding, disturbing, and fulfilling This one can.

This is the first book by Gramlich I read A sort of SF horror adventure, it introduced me to the world of the Whoun, an unknown race of beings on this planet.Gramlich has said he s got another novel plot laid out and plans to write it when he can.He s a professor at Xavier University and does a lot of non fiction and poetry as well.

Right from the get go, I knew I would enjoy this story Charles Gramlich has created very interesting characters that would scare the bejebbers out of anybody The Warkind are a nasty warrior race that is almost impossible to kill Nothing can seem to stop them as they tear through the land killing anybody in their path The book starts off fast, and the pace remains up to speed for the entire novel I found myself having a hard time waiting to see what was going to happen next How could Kyle even co [...]
