I felt indifferent to the story, but I thoroughly enjoyed how each spread had a different Canadian illustrator some with than one spread It made for a fun game of guess the illustrator.

I think this is an important book to read aloud with students Almost every page provides an opportunity for young children to share a bit about themselves, leading to discussion about similarities, differences and what it means to be part of a community and culture I enjoyed reading about the inspirations for creating the work in this book from the author and each illustrator I hope to find it in my school library and it s on my wish list of books to purchase for my classroom.

Love this book with photos of beautiful Canadian children The new edition for Canada s sesquicentennial, with wonderful illustrations by 13 different Canadian illustrators, is beautiful, too, but I prefer the photos.

The edition I read was the one for Canada 150 with illustrations from 13 well known Canadian artists For those familiar with their work especially children it was particularly rewarding to see my students spontaneously, excitedly and correctly identify attribute the work of the illustrators.

This is an easy to read book that depicts Canadian children The simple narrative and colorful photographs show various children living in different parts of Canada and participating in different activities It would be a great book for young elementary school age children to read to learn about life in Canada.
