New Avengers entered the Dark Reign era with a special featuring Alex Maleev art that found Norman Osborn, in a position of power after killing the Skrull Queen at the climax of Secret Invasion, gathering his Dark Illuminati for an uneasy conference The New Avengers soldiered on with a few line up changes Spider Woman and Ms Marvel were onboard, as was the back from the dead Mockingbird Echo went missing after Secret Invasion and if you were curious as to what happened to her, well, don t look f [...]

The books lays the groundwork for the ongoing Dark Reign story, and the New Avengers role as an agitant in it first issue picks up where Secret Invasion leaves off, with Norman Osborn splitting up the Marvel U.S with assorted villains Emma Frost of the X Men is in his cabal, because no one seems willing to let her be good for good The next three issues have the New Avengers trying and failing to figure out how to respond to Osbourne s national takeover of superherodom The whole thing caps off wi [...]

Oh the pretty art in 50Coming out of Secret Invasion, the team is bigger than it was, adding Ms Marvel, who was a Mighty Avenger, but realized that Tony had led astray and remembered her friends Also adding Mockingbird, fresh from Skrull prison for years, and alongside Clint Ronin Hawkeye Goliath Barton, her soul mate ex hubby Oh and there s this Guy wearing a Cap suit, goes by the name Bucky.

I did a reread of all the New Avengers recently This is a standout in comics for me on so many levels It has the best roster, best heart, best dialogue, best writing and phenomenal art Bendis really nailed this story line and this entire run The Secret Invasion is over The New Avengers are outlaws and Norman Osborne is in charge of a renamed SHIELD The New Avengers are at their best when they are on the run and outlaws like during Civil War.

This is one very short collection I managed to read it in less than 1 hour It doesn t look good for Marvel to make tradepaperbacks for only 3 issues The art is good Tan and Maleev are doing a nice job.The first two issues are dealing with Luke Cage and the search of his child During his quest, he is joining forces with Norman Osborn I didn t like the end of this story line Bendis was building so much for the relation between Luke cage and Jessica Jones and their kin and I was expecting something [...]

The Secret Invasion is over and the Marvel U will very soon fall to Norman Osborn s Dark Reign and the first issue collected in this book, Secret Invasion Dark Reign , picks up where the latest Marvel event left off and is easily the best part of this book which doesn t say much for the rest Normie adresses his cabal of mostly villains and tells them what s what, that he s got a plan and what not for giving them an iron fisted control of the new status quo In the two issues that follow this one [...]

A great edition to the New Avengers Line So far every time I ve run into one of Marvels big story lines in this case Dark Reign through this series it s made me want to go out and read the event Bendis writes Osborn as such a great Villain and in such a way that you just KNOW he s going to self explode before long and it will be spectacular Luke and Jessica Jones get a chance to steal the lime light again, which is something I always appreciate The addition of Mockingbird and Ms Marvel into the [...]

I m torn I think Bendis has an ear for dialogue, but it s not appropriate for the characters he s asked to write for If these were his own creations, it would work fine But for established characters with defined personalities, it feels off, like a logo where the registration of the printer is not calibrated close, but you see some blurring and uncohesiveness In many places, you could switch the dialogue in the balloon from one characters to another and it wouldn t make a lick of difference.Plot [...]

This was an interesting but short volume that focused on what immediately is going on with the Avengers after the Skrull invasion Bucky is now taking the Captain America mantle, Jess and Luke seem to be back together but have lost the baby which ended in a kind of mundane way, after all the fuss , and everyone is pissed at Jessica Drew EVEN THOUGH SHE DIDN T DO ANYTHING I will perpetually feel bad for JD because she has been trying so hard to be double triple quadruple agent to HELP the Avengers [...]

  11. Mark

Reformed criminal Norman Osborn first takes over the Thunderbolts and then uses them to dismantle S.H.E.I.L.D and the Avengers Now seen as a national hero, the former Goblin flexes his political muscles while Luke Cage and Jessica Jones search for their stolen baby.Good art and lots of story here This is likely a good starting point for those interested in the Dark Reign story line.NotesThe new Captain America makes an appearance.Learning CurveLow to Moderate Readers that did not follow the Secr [...]

not sure what to write Honestly still somehow waiting to find out how the battle went, where the hell came Cap America back and what Osborn did that he won the whole fight But as some say that is for different book so need to go for visit and read it under surveillance On the other hand nicely written, very good drawings kept me occupied Appearance of some new faces and rearranging things kept pace, so it was good read

  13. Ernest

As a volume which examines the New Avengers place in Dark Reign, it is successful Those who have read previous and simultaneous comics will appreciate the developments and links that have been created and are portrayed However, it is not a great volume but merely a sufficiently good one Some moments were uneven and some of the artwork distinctly out of place This was particularly disappointing as some of the storylines were actually of a high standard.

A roster change after Secret Invasion, with Ms Marvel, Mockingbird and the new Cap added on The Jarvis Skrull Kidnapped Cage and Jessica Jones s Baby Cage goes to Osborn for help And with a cover like that issue 50 seemed like they ll be fighting the Dark Avengers But after a brief tussle with the dark avengers they end up getting attacked by the Hood and his army of villains Some pages have different artists and this time they are all good ones with their own unique style.

  15. Alice

This was ok Getting Danielle back was kind of anti climactic There is still a lot of distrust and paranoia in the superhero community and I m getting a bit tired of it now Also Bucky is now Captain America It s very weird seeing him use a gun I did not like the weird mix of artists used for the character POVs towards the end of 50 Especially my least favourite Ms Marvel artist Greg Horn His stuff makes me want to vomit.

  16. Mairi

More fallout from Secret Invasion, with Luke and Jessica and the rest of the Avengers trying to get the baby back, which made for a good story The different art for each characters in the 50 battle was an interesting idea Secret Invasion Dark Reign, while giving some insight into what Osborn is up to, ultimately doesn t get much of anywhere.

  17. Todd

Secret Invasion fallout The Avengers get a new line up to correspond when with the new status quo in the Marvel U I hate that Greg Horn drew the Carol page I m a fan of the other artists brought in for those pages but Greg Horn just leaves me so dry.

  18. TJ Shelby

Bendis can just flat out write Compelling story as Luke Cage and Jessica Jones deal with having their baby kidnapped by Avengers Butler Jarvis, who happens to have been a Skrull S.H.I.E.L.D falls and the ascension of Norman Osborn takes shape I loved it.

  19. Thomas

A solid reset after Secret Invasion Luke and Jessica look for their baby as all the heroes attempt to figure out what they are going to do with Norman Osborn running the Avengers Bendis writes big books and team books well This is just further example of that point.

  20. Clay

Just a cluster of continuity This book would be the reason some comics can t get new readers Who s Captain America Ronin What Event book did that happen in I was able to follow some of it but most of the book is explaining what s going on in the Marvel U.

  21. Karl Kindt

Except for the ridiculous new costume for the new Captain America he looks like he is partially undressed from street clothes into his old costume , this rocks as some of the best new Marvel.

  22. Maria Herondale

I m not gonna lie, I have absolutely no idea of how I should rate comic books, it s all very confusing.

  23. Bob Wolniak

I d give this a higher rating if only for the art, however, it is an incomplete unresolved storyline involving Dark Avengers and The Hood.
