    The exquisite Baroque music and Bartoli s sublime voice are just amazing The booklet contains some extraordinary photography and the essay The School for Castratos which explains the sacrifice for art which achieved its pinnacle during the Baroque It simultaneously decries the practice and mourns the loss of that particular art form.A while ago I read Anne Rice s A Cry to Heaven which covered the tragedy and artistry of this practice In the author s notes she named a recording of a famous castra [...]
